Series of Fla. Hurricanes Delay Funerals
By JILL BARTON, Associated Press Writer
FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The four-in-a-row hurricanes that have disrupted lives across Florida
have also delayed life's final journey for many.
Funerals have been put off for weeks in some places because the ground is too soggy for
burials or because scattered family members cannot be assembled.
Many undertakers have also had trouble finding doctors to sign death certificates. They
have had to scramble to find electricity to run the refrigerated rooms where bodies are
stored. Some have had to struggle just to find water to mix the embalming fluids and
cleanse the bodies.

Mt. Moriah - Fact or Fiction?
Written by John Ellingsworth
Wednesday, 07 July 2004
The fictional story below was sent to me by
Jack Myers
from his soon to be released (sometime in 2005) book
Row House Days
, which is about his childhood in Southwest Philadelphia during the 1960s. He's changed all the names in the story to protect the innocent - Mt. Moriah is Mt. Lebanon, Cobbs Creek is Dobbs Creek, Crazy George is Crazy Sam, etc. but if you are familiar with the area, you will probably recognize the names.
I would suggest all who read it drop
Mr. Myers
a line and tell him you read the story; I am sure he would love to hear back from you!
A big thanks to Jack for sharing his hard work!

A VISIT TO CAMDEN'S MOST OVERGROWN GRAVEYARD
Exploring The Wilderness of Historic Evergreen Cemetery
Hoag Levins
CAMDEN, N.J. -- What was originally planned as a leisurely genealogical excursion through Camden's historic graveyards last weekend unexpectedly turned into a near-wilderness experience at the day's longest stop, Evergreen Cemetery.
The Victorian burial ground that sprawls from Ferry Avenue north along Mount Ephraim Avenue in the southeast corner of the city was heavily covered in chest-high grasses.
Currently in bankruptcy, the 85-acre facility has, for several years, been almost totally abandoned to the raw forces of nature.

Will you come to a FoMM meeting?
Written by John Ellingsworth
Wednesday, 07 July 2004
Hi all.
I want to get a sense of who would be able to attend a meeting of the FoMM sometime in the next couple of weeks (no date finalized yet), to be held somewhere(?) in Philaldephia.
The reason I ask is I need to know if anyone will come!
