Mount Moriah Cemetery - It was beautiful once - Can we do anything about it now?
We think we can - and we need your help!
Friends Of Mt. Moriah, a volunteer group, invite you to a public meeting on Thursday June 16, 7:30 PM at American Legion Post at 64th Street and Paschall Avenue. We are dedicated to conducting historical research, organizing cemetery cleanups, advocating restoration and providing opportunities for preservation of the Mount Moriah Cemetery, and we need your help!
If your family has any photos, deeds, or documents from the cemetery, please bring them.
Find out about the state of things at the beautiful but sad cemetery and bring ideas about how we can save it.

I have quite a few relatives that are resting in Mt. Moriah and have spent many hours searching for the graves but have never found them. I have been looking every Saturday for over a year now but it's sad to say my hope is wearing thin. The odds seem to be against me. Between the vandals & the overgrowth of the poorly maintained grounds I may never find my ancestors. If you have been there you can relate to the disgust, anger & sorrow that I feel. |
