As part of my plan to make information about burials in Mount Moriah easier to find, I am looking for volunteers who would be willing to aid in transforming some of the data we have collected over the years into a standard format.  By placing the information into a standard format, we can create new ways of looking at the collective history of the cemetery, such as mapping the location of burials, or displaying a historical timeline of burials.

There currently is no standardized method used for storing the data for most of the interments.  The exception to this is a database of burials in the Civil War Plot and in the Naval Administration Plot.  These interments are stored in a database table that lends itself to searching and storing this information.
I'm looking for some volunteers who would be willing to sign up and take a small section of interment information I have collected (most of which is already on the website) and transfer it to a new format.

The steps involved include:

- signing up for and getting a list of non-standard format interments;
- getting a copy of the Excel file to be used for the new format
- transferring the relevant fields/information from the non-standard to the standard format;
- emailing it back to me for insertion into the database

To see how this information can be used in interesting ways, see the following url:

http://mountmoriahcemetery.org/beta/timeline/timeline.html

This page shows a two part timeline bar that allows you to grab and drag the bar to the left or right to advance through time.  In addition, you can click each of the dots to see more information about each person.

If you have some time (maybe an hour or two) to aid with this project, I'd appreciate your letting me know.  I will also be making changes to the website so that future interment listings will be added in a standard format.

Thanks for all of your help and support with Mount Moriah Cemetery and its projects.
