A 2-day working colloquium is planned to address the issues
surrounding the preservation of the American burial ground and
cemetery and to discuss problems and methods of approach and practice
in documentation, intervention, planning and management. Invited speakers will review a broad range of key issues and tours will be
made of Christ Church Burial Ground, Woodlands Cemetery and Laurel
Hill Cemetery. Participants will include professionals familiar with
the subject through research and practice to ensure dialogue across
the many related disciplines of history, geography, folklore,
anthropology, architecture, landscape architecture, planning, site
managment and conservation.

Dates: November 7-8, 2003
Location: University of Pennsylvania
