In June, I ordered a 10-year search for my Great-Great Grandfather, William Smith. I asked for 1912-22 to be searched because he was still alive at the time his son, my great-grandfather died (buried at Mount Moriah) but was missing from the 1920 Census. He was born around 1848 (1900 Census says March 1848).
Yesterday, I got a Certificate of No Record back from the Division of Vital Records. According to them, there was no death certificate for William Smith filed between 1912 and 1922.
Maybe I should spend the $25, take the chance and see if Mount Moriah has anything for a William Smith between 1910 and 1930....or for William's wife, Jennie Cowan Smith, who died between 1880 and 1900?
If other members of that family are buried at MM, maybe they are, too!
