My question is, why is the Mayor of Yeadon only 'impressed' by what the police have done, and no comment about the fact that people are using the cemetery in this way?
Pot Field Found in Cemetery
September 22, 2004 - A surprising discovery Wednesday in Delaware County, a field of marijuana plants growing in the middle of a cemetery.
There was a winding path chopping through an old abandoned cemetery.
To most people it simply looks like a path but to the trained eye it's the tell-tale sign of a marijuana farm located just over the city's border in Yeadon.
And what Yeadon Police found was an enormous amount of marijuana, ready to be harvested at a street value between $200,000 and $300,000.
Police officials in the borough admit that an overgrown cemetery is a very clever place to hide a marijuana farm and had Philadelphia Police not been flying nearby, chances are, they would've never found it.
Mayor Jacqueline Mosley says she's impressed by the expertise displayed by Philadelphia Police.
In the end, the marijuana did end up in smoke, but likely not the way the planters hoped. |
