Mount Moriah Cemetery - It was beautiful once - Can we do anything about it now? We think we can - and we need your help! Friends Of Mt. Moriah, a volunteer group, invite you to a public meeting on Thursday June 16, 7:30 PM at American Legion Post at 64th Street and Paschall Avenue.  We are dedicated to conducting historical research, organizing cemetery cleanups, advocating restoration and providing opportunities for preservation of the Mount Moriah Cemetery, and we need your help! If your family has any photos, deeds, or documents from the cemetery, please bring them. Find out about the state of things at the beautiful but sad cemetery and bring ideas about how we can save it. Join us! About the Friends of Mount Moriah: Mission Statement: The Friends of Mount Moriah are committed to the preservation and heritage of the Mount Moriah Cemetery.  We will collectively seek to maintain the dignity of these grounds in which our families and other citizens have been laid to rest. Vision Statement: 1) The Friends of Mount Moriah will voluntarily contribute to the preservation of the grounds, the gathering and dissemination of historical information, and the maintenance of burial records. 2) We will maintain a volunteer schedule that will facilitate the involvement of our membership and other community or fraternal groups in a revolving basis. 3) We will emphasize the historical values of Mount Moriah to the citizens of Philadelphia and other communities, including the internet. 4) We will maintain dialogue with genealogical organizations in the interest of furthering family history initiatives. 5) Finally, we shall pass along this responsibility to future generations of our families and citizens of the Philadelphia area. The honor, dignity, and heritage that is represented by Mount Moriah shall be maintained as a matter of family and civic responsibility. Thank you. The Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery
